What makes a crowd runner playable work
From the studio’s crowd runner playbook: the rules the agents load before they build, and what went wrong in earlier builds.

The number is the hero
The crowd count floats above the runners and jumps at every gate. Good gates are wider and sit on the natural path.

A rival to beat
Mid-run a rival crowd about 60% the size of yours meets you head-on and cancels one for one, so the gates you picked pay off.

Let a random player reach the end
Our first version wiped a casual player by second 8. Now a hidden rescue gate appears if the crowd drops under six, so everyone sees the stairs and the boss.

Hundreds of runners, one draw call
The crowd is a single instanced mesh, so 200 runners stay smooth on a mid-range phone.
